Family life: 
Arrived in Guernsey Easter 1969 as a 'displaced person' from Zambia. Son born in Guernsey in November1969, now lives in England.

Committee CV: 
Joined the committee in 1997. Have held the posts of Assistant Secretary and joint Show Secretary for several years.

What do you enjoy most about the Club? 

Have made many friends since joining in 1992. Learnt much about other breeds, and enjoy meeting other 'dog' people.


Dogs currently at home: 

Two Basenjis: Jade, rising 11; and Hi Jink, who was five in January.


Other breeds you might consider:
Rhodesian Ridgeback - was brought up with them. 

Beginning of show career: 

Early 1992. Talked into showing by Pat Finey; first show in Jersey in May. Never been to a show, never knowingly met a show dog. Told the judge, "You tell, I'll do." Enjoy it very much, but don't take it too seriously.

Highlight of show career: 

Autumn Open Show 1998: Best Veteran in Show, Dinah Mo of Alys (Inja) just short of nine and Red Jade of Alys (Jade) Best Puppy in Show at nine months.

Other interests: 
Reading, lace making, horses and riding/racing (not permitted for many years - used to race at 8 stone), bridge, mah jong, cribbage, Scrabble, whist and inexpert at chess.
